Stop letting people who do so little for you control so much of your mind, feelings & emotions
The only thing that I see that is distinctly different about me is that I’m not afraid to DIE on a treadmill. You might have more talent than me, you might be smarter than me, but if we get on a treadmill together, there are two things: 1) You’re getting off first OR 2) I’m gonna DIE. It’s really that simple.
Throughout life people will make you mad, disrespect you and treat you bad. Let God deal with the things they do, cause hate in your heart will consume you too.
Fear is not real. It is a product of thoughts you create. Do not misunderstand me. Danger is very real. But fear is a choice.
Fear is not real. The only place that fear can exist is in our thoughts of the future. It is a product of our imagination, causing us to fear things that do not at present and may not ever exist. That is near insanity. Do not misunderstand me danger is very real but fear is a choice
Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink. But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love. If you must steal, steal away from bad company. If you must cheat, cheat death. And if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away.
The keys to life are running and reading. When you’re running, there’s a little person that talks to you and says, “Oh I’m tired. My lung’s about to pop. I’m so hurt. There’s no way I can possibly continue.” You want to quit. If you learn how to defeat that person when you’re running. You will how to not quit when things get hard in your life. For reading: there have been gazillions of people that have lived before all of us. There’s no new problem you could have–with your parents, with school, with a bully. There’s no new problem that someone hasn’t already had and written about it in a book.
The only thing that I see that is distinctly different about me is I’m not afraid to die on a treadmill. I will not be out-worked, period. You might have more talent than me, you might be smarter than me, you might be sexier than me, you might be all of those things you got it on me in nine categories. But if we get on the treadmill together, there’s two things: You’re getting off first, or I’m going to die. It’s really that simple, right? You’re not going to out-work me. It’s such a simple, basic concept. The guy who is willing to hustle the most is going to be the guy that just gets that loose ball. The majority of people who aren’t getting the places they want or aren’t achieving the things that they want in this business is strictly based on hustle. It’s strictly based on being out-worked; it’s strictly based on missing crucial opportunities. I say all the time if you stay ready, you ain’t gotta get ready.
The only thing that I see that is distinctly different about me is, I am not afraid to die on a treadmill. You might have more talent than me, you might be smarter than me. But if we get on the treadmill together, there’s two things. You are getting off first. Or I am going to die. It’s that simple!
Being realistic is the most common path to mediocrity.
Don’t chase people. Be yourself, do your own thing and work hard. The right people – the ones who really belong in your life – will come to your. And stay.
Life isn’t how many breaths you take, but it’s the moments that take your breath away.
The separation of talent and skill is one of the greatest misunderstood concepts for people who are trying to excel, who have dreams, who want to do things. Talent you have naturally. Skill is only developed by hours and hours and hours of beating on your craft.
You can’t be scared to die for the truth. The truth is the only thing that is ever going to be constant.
There’s no reason to have a plan B because it distracts from plan A.
The first step is you have to say that you can.
I love living, its infectious. Its something that you can’t fake. I have a great time with my life and I want to share it.
Greatness is not an elusive feature that only the special among us will ever taste. Its something that truly exists in all of us. Its achieved by knowing what you believe, and be willing to die for it. I know who I am, what I believe, and that’s all I need to know. Others can go and do what they need to do. It’s simple.
Where you are is not where you’re going to be. Where you are almost doesn’t matter. You are becoming something greater.
The separation of talent and skill is a misunderstood concept by many. Talent is given to you naturally, but skill is crafted by hours and hours of mastering your craft. Excel in having a ridiculous work ethic. When others are sleeping, be working. When others are eating, be working.
Dedicate yourself to getting better every single day. Progress is being alive.
Don’t be afraid to die on the treadmill. Others may be stronger than me, or smarter than me, but no one will ever beat me. They will either get off first or I’m going to die on the treadmill.
When you’re building a wall, you don’t think that you’re going to build the biggest wall that’s ever been built. You say “I’m going to lay this brick, as perfectly as a brick can be layed”, and soon you will have a wall.
I want to do good. I want the world to be better because I was here. I want my life to mean something. If you are not making someone else’s life better, you’re wasting your time. Your life will become better by making other lives better.
There’s a certain disillusional quality that all successful people have to have. You have to believe that something different will happen this time.
Being realistic is the most commonly traveled road to mediocrity. Why be realistic? Electricity and aircrafts were not realistic, but now they are in existence. Its so ridiculous to embrace the idea that something is not possible. As soon as you say it, it becomes real.
There’s a redemptive power that making a choice has. Rather than feeling that you are at an effect of all the things that are happening. Make a choice and decide what you’re going to be, how you’re going to be, and how you’re going to do it. From that point, the universe will move out of your way.
I realize that to have the level of success that I want to have, its difficult to spread out my attention. It takes such a desperate obsessive focus. You’ve got to focus with all of your fiber, and all of your heart, and all of your creativity.
I am motivated by fear. The fear of fear. I hate being scared to do something. What developed in my early days was that I started attacking things that I was scared of.
If it was something that I really committed myself to, I don’t think there’s anything that could stop me becoming President of the United States.
The fellow that can only see a week ahead is always the popular fellow, for he is looking with the crowd. But the one that can see years ahead, he has a telescope but he can’t make anybody believe that he has it.
I don’t know what my calling is, but I want to be here for a bigger reason. I strive to be like the greatest people who have ever lived.
In my mind, I’ve always been an A-list Hollywood superstar. Y’all just didn’t know yet.
The first eight years of schooling was with all white people. So that helped me to understand how white people think. I think that transition is what helped me bridge the gap, because that’s what my success has really been about: bridging the gap between the black community and the white community.
Hey. Don’t ever let somebody tell you… You can’t do something. Not even me. All right? You got a dream… You gotta protect it. People can’t do somethin’ themselves, they wanna tell you you can’t do it. If you want somethin’, go get it. Period.
Every moment in life is a learning experience. Or what good is it, right?
Too many people spend money they haven’t earned, to buy things they don’t want, to impress people they don’t like.
Look at your 5 closest friends. Those five friends are who you are. If you don’t like who you are, then you know what you have to do…
The things that have been most valuable to me I did not learn in school.
If you’re not willing to work hard, let someone else do it. I’d rather be with someone who does a horrible job, but gives 110% than with someone who does a good job and gives 60%
And where I excel is ridiculous, sickening, work ethic. You know, while the other guy’s sleeping? I’m working.
So if you stay ready, you ain’t gotta get ready, and that is how I run my life.
I want the world to be better because I was here.
Whatever your dream is, every extra penny you have needs to be going to that.

- Will Power! A Biography Of Will Smith
Will Smith did not attend college because he wants to pursuit his music career. It is so true, that if you know what you want to be, have a plan on how to get there, and willing to read and think on your own, schooling can be an obstacle, because it take time and because you may have to take courses that do not necessarily in your interests, and beside you have to pay tuition which is not necessarily cheap.
