Delighted Living is a personal blog dedicated toward learning and sharing information on how to live a successful and fulfilled life. Like most people, I heard about the benefit of meditation, and yoga, and one day in 2013, after a long day at work, I went to YouTube to find out how to do meditation. The search result also included videos on other things, such as music to help you sleep, the law of attraction, the law of success. I’ve always been interested to know more about scientific and psychological laws, so I search deeper into these laws. I found many interest videos and decided to create this site to organize these links and to help me learn and share the art of living a successful and fulfilled life.
These videos are powerful, inspirational, and will take you a few hours to view them all. Bookmark this page now and enjoy!
Definite of purpose
Everything you want should be yours: the type of work you want; the relationships you need; the social, mental, and aesthetic stimulation that will make you happy and fulfilled; the money you require for the lifestyle that is appropriate to you; and any requirement that you may (or may not) have for achievement or service to others. If you don’t aim for it all, you’ll never get it all. To aim for it requires that you know what you want — Richard Koch
Knowing what you want from life is very important. You can go through life not knowing what you want and you will probably do okay, but if you want to live a successful and fulfilled life, you should know what you want and what are important to you. Figuring out what you want from life may not be an easy task. While money or material success is not everything, the lack of money can make you miserable. Take time to think, search inside yourself. Define for yourself a list of things that you want from life. Be specific. Decide on how much money you want to have, the kind of house you want to live in, the kind of work you want to do for a living, the number of children, how you want to spend your time with your children, what you want to do for a living, etc.

Work hard, work smart, and be balanced
Dreams don’t work unless you do — John C. Maxwell
All work and no play make Jack a dull boy — proverb
When the sun rises, I go to work. When the sun goes down, I take my rest. I dig the well from which I drink. I farm the soil which yields my food. I share creation. Kings can do no more — Chinese proverb
Rest, Exercise, Entertain, and Play
Working too hard can lead to burn-out and other problems, so be balanced. Don’t procrastinate too much, but take time to rest, entertain, play, and enjoy life’s little precious things, because that we will your brain enough rest, creativity.
Live in the presence
Don’t blame yourself. Don’t worry too much. Worry leads to stress, and heart diseases which can kill you. When my wife was pregnant with my first child, I was the only source of income for my family. I had a really bad boss and it was a really bad economic time. A lot of people was laid off. I was extremely worried about being fired and not being able to provide for my family. I almost had an anxiety attack every time my boss went into my cubicle. Since then, I’ve been through several period of tough time. The best advice that I can give you is to pay yourself first, have a discipline saving plan, put as much as you can into an emergency fund so that you have something to fall on, and don’t worry too much about your job. Your job is not you. If don’t like your situation, talk to your friends, find ways to change it, and don’t worry too much.
Make every moment counts
Life is short, make every moment count.
Appreciate what you have
If you are feeling miserable, think about things that you have, think about people that are less fortunate than you. If you cannot find things that you should appreciate, I suggest that you appreciate your children, your family, the fact that you have a job (no matter how much you hate it) that pays the bill and provide the roof over your head. Appreciate the fact that you can breath, walk. You may not enjoy life now, but someday you will be able to do and accomplish all the things that you want to do.
Faith & Perseverance
Believe in yourself, and your team. Be patient and enduring. You will be tested many times before being crowned with the final victory. Colonel Sanders (KFC founder) was refused a thousand times before he finally received a yes. Thomas Edison tried and failed 10 thousands times before he succeeded at producing the incandescent electric lamp. Steve Jobs were fired by the board of directors while he was the CEO of Apple before he made a come back. Successful people persevere, never quit, never give up. Henry Ford went bankrupt with his first attempt to build a car, got sacked from his second venture, before he finally made it in his third attempt.
Be happy, create and enjoy life
Be happy because there is no point for being miserable. You do have a choice between being happy and being miserable. Be happy by living in the presence, and appreciating the things that you have and the people that you have around you.
As I go through life, like most people, I faced some challenges, and I got exposed to religions. I believe in higher being(s). Even though our DNA indicates that we evolved from apes, I believe that there are higher being(s) that created all the animals and human. For me, I think that it is not possible for human to become human just through billions of years of evolution. Think about it. Every animals on this planet has a reproductive system, and throughout the birth process, things happen at a very precise time. We have some birth defects, but majority of children grow up normal and healthy. The birth process is very amazing, and I think that evolution is not enough to create such a marvelous process. And as human, we are blessed with supreme intelligence that are far more than other animals. We can create our own food, clothing, and whatever else to improve our lives. If we compare ourselves to other animals, I believe that our purpose in life is to enjoy the things that we create. That is, through whichever mean that we arrived on earth, we have the necessary mean to create, experience and enjoy life. However, like everything else, being extreme can be very harmful. Having a glass of wine during diner is beneficial to your health. Driving while under the influence of alcohol is dangerous to the lives of other people and your own life. Addiction to drug, alcohols, and cigarette are harmful to you and other people around you, and is a waste of your money. We are co-creators of our lives. Enjoy life responsibly.
If you want to live a successful and fulfilled life, you should know what you want and what are important to you. While money or material success is not everything, the lack of money can make you miserable. Take time to think, search inside yourself. Define for yourself a list of things that are important to you, a list of goals that you want to accomplish.
